Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift FPD

Cargill Protein - Eggs is a leader at delivering further processed and value added egg products into the Foodservice, Retail and Ingredient market channels. It operates four food processing facilities located in the United States. Our customers in Foodservice are comprised of large national restaurant chain operators and both national and regional foodservice distributors. Our Retail customers are comprised of primarily large national grocery retailers. Our Ingredient customers are comprised of large branded manufacturers of retail consumer packaged goods. The customers from these channels are attracted to working with Cargill because of our demonstrated leadership in delivering innovative products, integrity, operational excellence, food safety and risk management regarding refrigerated and frozen liquid eggs, egg patties, omelets, French toast, and diced and hard cook eggs.
You will play a vital role in the success of the further processing department (FPD) at the Lake Odessa, MI facility managing three production lines (2 extruded lines & 1 patty line). As a Production Supervisor, you will develop a deep understanding of production responsibilities and assess and initiate opportunities for improvement. You will create and promote a team-building environment, which promotes customer and stakeholder enthusiasm. Also, you will implement and recognize continuous improvement through ensuring stakeholder involvement in problem solving and decision-making. Additionally, you are responsible for executing safety initiatives and communicating safety awareness. This position will assure all HACCP's, GMP's, and SOP's are executed as planned. This position will communicate business results and achievement of departmental goals and milestones. Lastly, you will promote stakeholder focus through training and development and be a leader for change, new ideas, and getting the job done.
Must be willing to work a second shift (2-10pm) and occasional weekends in a supervisor coverage rotation.

Responsibilities:
This position shall have the responsibility to report problems with the food safety management system to identified person(s). This position has the responsibility and authority to initiate and record actions.
Acquire and maintain knowledge of HACCP/OPRP/PRP (GMP) policies and requirements to complete all monitoring and/or verifications tasks as outlined in Food Safety Management System and ensure that corrections and corrective actions, if needed, are taken per the Food Safety Management System.
Required Qualifications
4 year degree OR 4 years related operations or leadership experience
Positive attitude and problem solving mentality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Emphasis in Processing, Food Engineering, Food Science or equivalent experience
2 years Supervisory experience People Leadership proficiency
Knowledge of Continuous Improvement practices
Knowledge of Reliability Excellence
Computer literacy
SAP experience and knowledge
